Last Updated: January 3, 2025
Welcome to CaptureIQ ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you understand how your data is handled.
Privacy First: CaptureIQ is designed with privacy at its core. All document processing, OCR, and AI extraction features operate entirely on your device. We do not upload, store, or access your documents on any external servers.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically
We do not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. We do not collect:
- Device identifiers
- Usage analytics
- Location data
- Browsing history
- Personal identifiers
1.3 Device Permissions
CaptureIQ requests the following device permissions to function:
- Camera Access: Required to scan documents using your device's camera. Camera data is processed locally and never transmitted.
- Photo Library Access: Optional permission to import existing photos for scanning or to save scanned documents to your photo library. This data remains on your device.
2. How Your Data is Stored
Local Storage Only: All scanned documents, OCR text, extracted data, and app settings are stored exclusively on your device. We have no access to this data.
Your data is stored in your device's local storage and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account (managed by Apple, subject to Apple's privacy policy). We cannot access, view, or retrieve any of your documents or data.
3. No Cloud Storage or Transmission
CaptureIQ operates entirely offline for all core functionality:
- Document scanning is performed on-device
- Optical Character Recognition (OCR) uses Apple's Vision framework locally
- AI extraction features run on-device using Core ML
- No documents are ever uploaded to external servers
- No data is transmitted to third parties
4. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
CaptureIQ offers optional premium features through in-app purchases managed by Apple's StoreKit. When you make a purchase:
- All payment processing is handled by Apple
- We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information
- Apple may share anonymized aggregate purchase data with us
- Your purchase history is managed by Apple in accordance with their privacy policy
For information about how Apple handles your data, please review Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising
We prioritize your privacy:
- We do not use any third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics, Firebase, or Mixpanel)
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not share data with advertising networks
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties
6. Data Security
Since all data remains on your device, security is primarily managed through:
- Your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
- iOS encryption for stored data
- iCloud encryption (if you use iCloud backup)
We recommend keeping your device updated and using a strong passcode to protect your data.
7. Your Rights Under GDPR
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of Access: Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete access to your data at all times.
- Right to Rectification: You can modify or correct your data directly within the app.
- Right to Erasure: You can delete any or all of your data at any time by deleting documents within the app or uninstalling the app.
- Right to Data Portability: You can export your documents in standard formats (PDF, image files) at any time.
- Right to Object: As we do not process your data, there is no processing to object to.
Because CaptureIQ processes all data locally and does not transmit data to external servers, we act as a "data controller" only for any support communications you initiate with us.

CaptureIQ is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the app functions entirely offline and collects no personal data, there is minimal risk to children's privacy.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
11. Data Retention
Since all data is stored locally on your device:
- Your data is retained for as long as you keep it in the app
- Deleting documents removes them from your device

- We retain no copies of your data on any servers
